Anlon RT3® Flight Friction Tester with Water System

Anlon RT3® Flight Friction Tester

With Precision Water System, Accurate wet friction testing for safer airport runways

Precision Wet Friction Testing

Not every airfield friction tester needs the water system. Smaller regional airports in colder climates may not require it. However, for larger airports with significant air traffic where rubber builds up, or for airfields with older degraded pavements needing resurfacing decisions, the water system becomes essential.

The RT3® Flight with Water System is fully compliant with FAA Circular 5320-12C for measurement, construction, and maintenance of skid-resistant airport pavement surfaces.

Applying water in front of friction measurement tires dramatically impacts results. Surface age, groove effectiveness, contaminant buildup, and chemical treatments all influence friction measurements. Our precision water system ensures you get accurate, reliable data to maintain the safest possible landing surfaces.

Advanced Control Systems

Water System Operation Diagram

Speed Detection

System detects when vehicle reaches 20mph

Nozzle Deployment

Water nozzle automatically lowers into position

Flow Regulation

Precision pumps and sensors maintain exact flow rate

Consistent Film

1mm water film maintained ahead of friction wheel

The Anlon control system uses vehicle speed sensors to automatically deploy the water nozzle at 20mph. Precision pumps in the secondary tank maintain exact water pressure, while flow sensors ensure consistent 1mm water film thickness ahead of the measurement tire. The system automatically retracts when testing completes.
